Day 26 - Oslo, Norway (day 2)

I’ll be honest, Oslo was the one port I was not expecting much. In fact, this was the one port I thought I may stay on the ship. What in the world was I thinking.

New day and not a cloud in the sky	Will do more exploring on the ‘downtown’ side today	City Hall
	Amazing how many stories of buildings in this region (here too) start off with “After WW2 …”. Oslo was the same. Needed a new city hall after the old one was destroyed by the German armies	To give you an idea how large this space is when they hold formal meetings
Nordic life	Designed to remind elected officials who they are and what’s important	The King’s Palace, basically NYC’s central park
	It is where the king of Norway will come still for official business / hosting duties	Fell in love with this little pond

Just a little taste of why I started to fall for Oslo

	The university is downtown too
Parliament building	And of course a McD nearby

Time to say goodbye. This isn’t a large town but I’d like more time to explore. The people are super friendly (they all speak great English), super clean and safe streets and there’s an vibe here that’s hard to capture in photos. It is expensive (everything you could buy in the States is 2x here) but worth a visit.
